Filtering Capabilities

While PADS permits users to view particle images easily, the program is not designed for extensive filtering. It is difficult to isolate data for particles with particular attributes. OASIS, in contrast, permits users to filter both numerical and image data according to the following variables: 

  • Particle area
  • Particle shape
  • Inter-arrival time (IAT)
  • Area fraction

Flexible Platform

OASIS provides access to the full suite of IGOR’s built-in statistical functions. Users can easily generate curve fits, peak fits, histograms, regression analyses and other statistical data.

IGOR also has its own programming language. Users can extend the capability of OASIS by modifying the program’s routines or adding their own procedures. This extensibility is a core feature of OASIS. 



Enhanced Graphing

OASIS gives users access to IGOR’s journal-quality scientific graphing features:

  • Wide range of graph types and annotation formats
  • 2D and 3D graphs
  • Fast graphing with almost immediate refreshing capability, even for large data sets
  • Unlimited number of graphs

The top graph below shows particle shape (higher number = more irregular) as a function of size. The color scale displays particle frequency. The graph beneath it shows particle number concentration as a function of time and particle size. Both graphs were generated in OASIS by Dr. Jonny Crosier, University of Manchester.
